With a clear ambition to be an agenda-setting platform that uses its voice to accelerate sustainability efforts in the fashion industry, the Sustainability Requirements framework has been revised since its launch in 2020 while also remaining central in CPHFW’s work to prepare brands ahead of implementing the Minimum Standards as a mandatory criterion to showcase at CPHFW by AW23.
By incorporating the learnings from pilot studies and revising the requirements to reflect state-of-the art industry developments, we moved from 17 to 18 Minimum Standards by adding a ban on fur in spring 2022. The Sustainability Requirements survey was introduced to all brands accepted to the 2022 official show schedules, as part of their own preparation while it also allowed CPHFW to conduct individual meetings to discuss our expectations concerning our sustainability requirements with brands, guiding them through the process and acquainting them with the steps involved.
Furthermore, to support brands in living up to our Sustainability Requirements, CPHFW established a new partner service with consultants trained to walk them through the survey and answer any questions, especially regarding our Minimum Standards. This, along with other knowledge sharing materials and activities have been developed by CPHFW and is shared with show brands to further their sustainability actions.
