I loved making this cake for Holly & Demetri! Right from the get-go, I felt like we were such a good fit. They loved what me and my business are all about and I just loved their energy and their vibe and all of their gorgeous plans for their wedding.

Holly shared loads of information in her enquiry form so straight away I knew what they were looking for from me. And I could just tell that they valued the creativity and skill I could bring to their wedding cake. I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently, because when I receive enquiries like this it completely lights me up. I feel energised and excited and the creative juices just flow and the magic happens!

This week I mentioned on my Stories that I’m going to be super selective with the work I take on in 2023 and so the information I receive in the enquiry form is going to be vital in helping me to decide if it’s a booking I want to proceed with. For me, the booking process is a 2 way thing - couples need to see if I’m the right cake designer for them but I also need to see if they’re a good fit for me too. My way of working is non-prescriptive and organic as often I’m working with fresh flowers that I won’t see until the wedding day and so couples working with me need to trust my process and my abilities. I know that’s not going to be right for everyone which is why we have to see if we’re right for each other. I feel so grateful to have worked with so many couples who totally get that. Holly & Demetri completely trusted me to create an edible work of art for them and because of their trust it enabled me to work freely! 💫
