Meet the locals. For those lucky enough to encounter these charismatic animals, dolphins are often observed to follow in the wakes of boats. It's hypothesized that they do so because the strong kinetic energy created by wakes propels them along, allowing them to swim with far less effort than usual. With our new research vessel, #falkortoo, coming in at 363 feet in length, plenty of wake will be generated as it cruises. Here's to hoping we'll be meeting many more 🐬 on future expeditions 🤞
