In many ways Yohhei kicked off Pickathon Every year. It starts to feel very real when the build crew arrives, but we can’t prep food for them efficiently without sharp knives. This meant calling on Yohhei. But it was more than knives that he sharpened. His kindness and beauty and personality also sharpened our focus going in. Pickathon is about it’s people, the fondness we —musicians, attendees, volunteers, staff, have for one another and our willingness to do something nearly impossible every year just because we can. Yohhei was the reminder to go in sharp, stay present and savor every moment. We will miss him so much. Rest now Yohhei. We promise to stay sharp for you. —your friends at Pickathon
