Treccia is our first project related to time and craftsmanship, proudly showed during @neonyt.fashion show at Frankfurt 🌱 While everything around us seems to be running out of time, we have decided to make a step back, focusing on slow development and textile research; making time sustainable again. TRECCIA aims to show the creation of unique garments, resulting as encounter of different cultures, and manual skills, without any use of electricity. 1) The first phase of the project involves our friend and artist @damien.a.a who sourced raw cotton fibers in Dakar, working with local's artisans to hand-spin a few kgs for us, to be sent to Milan. 2) We then received the yarn and made yards of cotton tubular in different sizes, only using handknitting machines at @spacciomaglieria 3) Each tubular has been hand-braided by the wise hands of @kumba_extension 's Girl in her unique shop located in Loreto 4) Each braid has been draped on a mannequin by @_marinie @claireauc and sewed all together with the leftover raw cotton yarn. 5) No use of electricity, Si use of seconds/minutes/hours ❤️ Thanks to @claudiahofmannstudio @alessia_ansalone for showing the project at @neonyt.fashion and @angeliaamicorno @pedrobelveder3 @yestimsmall for the support (:
