I pray we never become casual to the saying “He is risen” and “the tomb is empty” and while yes those things are the truth, I pray we understand it’s so much more than that. It’s easy to downplay the dark elements as Jesus went to the cross and the suffering he endured before , and just skip to the part of him conquering the grave. He didn’t escape the coming of the cross, he endured it for you and I. So we could live a life of freedom and celebration of the Savior. He had you and I on the forefront of his mind as he made his way to the cross, as he hung on the cross, and even today as he’s seated in Heaven. He knew you would find redemption through his blood. He knew you would find freedom from the debt we owed. And every single moment of pain and suffering was worth it to Him if that meant he could have a relationship with YOU! He chose you even when he knew you’d choose sin over him. Even when we choose comfort, he still chooses us. Even when we choose our fleshly desires, he chooses us. He chose us and continues to choose us each and everyday. That is the good news of Jesus!! Quit going back to the sin that Jesus died for. He didn’t die for you to sit stuck in your sin. Our chains are gone and we are free indeed!! I pray that we never grow numb to the gospel of Jesus Christ. That it would embellish in our hearts and souls, and our lives would be living proof of a living Savior. That his sacrifice would lead us to live a life surrendered and we would walk in the freedom that we so freely receive! Praying that this isn’t just another Easter for you where you celebrate for a day and go back to living life the way you want, but that you take the time to understand the depths of the sacrifice Christ made for us and what that means for you now: living a life to bring honor and glory to Him. Thank you Jesus for a love we could never comprehend , understand, or fathom. Thank you for being so kind enough to choose us even when we don’t choose you.
