On the winter solstice, the Northern Hemisphere is farthest from the sun’s warmth. Winter is a time to bundle up, to go inward towards your depth. But winter holidays are also a time to warm up your connections to others. It’s normal to feel lonesome if you don’t have loved ones in your life or you just aren’t feeling that holiday cheer. Expectations run high and the social pressure to be joyful and merry can be a burden. If your friends and family aren’t around, even if they are - consider this is when you can commit to meditation. More than half of Americans say they feel lonely, even more for underrepresented groups. 78% of young people 18-24 report being lonely...Even on zoom, meditating with others helps! Come to my sitting group this Sunday on Christmas day, there’s always a place for you (@insightlameditation to sign up💗). Remember, you exist in an interconnected dimension of timeless mystery even when you’re feeling all alone ✨ Just as the winter solstice shifts the length of days and nights, you can take this time to create more balance and harmony in some area of your life. You have the right to withdraw from relationships and activities that don’t nourish your spirit. This is a time to focus on understanding where your heart wants to go and to be guided by the light of your intuitive heart. 💖 #wintersolstice #balance #relationship #intuition #heartfulness #light #meditation #zen #mindfulness
