@max.lowe is a photographer, storyteller and the director of the feature length documentary @tornfilm2021, now streaming on @disneyplus. We shot this portrait at @renan_ozturk and @taylorfreesolo’s place when Max was first contemplating making the Torn film. I knew then how vulnerable telling a personal story could be, and when I watched it I was so impressed by the rawness and depth that Max shared. The story resonated personally for me as both of Max’s dads were my heroes in my early climbing days, and I met @conrad_anker shortly before he lost his best friend Alex Lowe in the avalanche that changed everything for Max and his family. This was the third time I shot a portrait of Max, and I recall him jokingly asking if he needed to do something badass before I would actually share one. Well Max, the Torn film certainly is that...
