many say 2020 has been one of the worst years yet - and i agree that many tragic and devastating events have happened, but honestly i believe it is the snap into reality that everyone needed. starting all the way back in january, which was almost 6 months ago, were the australian wildfires that showed us that we need to take better care of our planet if we intend to keep living here. then, was the heartbreaking death of kobe bryant and his 13 year old daughter gianna, along with a few others. unfortunate events like these remind us to tell the people we love how we feel everyday and to not let little disagreements tear us apart, for we never know how long we have with each other. then ,once again, we were presented with another reminder to not take people and life for granted when our world was put on lockdown as corona circled the globe. now that we are unable to do things and see people as we have always done, we are forced to stop and reconsider life and acknowledge what is truly valuable and to say and do things when we get the chance. now, to an issue that has been raging for too many years and is present and urgent today: injustice. with the tragic and unjust death of george floyd, the entire world has come together to finally put racial injustice to an end. every little thing done is helpful and shows support for blm. this matter needs to be addressed, no matter how uncomfortable the topic is. anyone who says they dont see an issue, is a part of the problem. open ur eyes. wake up. people are dying. now is the time for change. at the protests, the energy was incredible. everyone was walking and talking together in support of blm. those hours spent walking throughout the streets protesting are extremely vital to the progression of our country and world. i will not stay quiet. i will use my privilege that i so unrightfully have to positively help those whose voices need to be heard. take action. dont stop. no justice. no peace.
