📕 STORY TIME 📕 Every hero or villain (or DJ in this case) has some sort of origin story. Mine goes back to the pandemic in 2020 when I finally took the leap and decided to invest in my first set of DJ equipment. At this point I had been contemplating DJing for many years but could never justify the cost. I was always the person trying to grab the AUX at friends’ pregames and many people had suggested I take a shot at DJing because I seemingly had a good ear 👂🏼 I had also built up a library of music over 10+ years prior although the period post 2015 was arguably the most influential on my current taste. However in 2020 I had been listening to a lot of music from this one artist, namely @matan.caspi.music whose productions really connected with me. There was just something about the lush, deep and moody grooves in his tracks that resonated with me and finally pushed me to take the plunge that year and get going with that DJ thing I had been putting off for so long! ⌛️ Even the first ever DJ mix I recorded (DIVE 001) featured a lot of music from Matan and that mix still holds a special place in my heart. ⏭️⏩ Fast forward to today and I have the privilege and joy to be hosting Matan in Chicago for his first ever performance AND to be playing alongside him on the lineup. Safe to say that I am beyond thrilled!
