A little highlight reintroduction for those who are new! 🥰 When I first started this page (then called Planting Positivity) it was 2015, and I’d just started dating Luke. I’d struggled to come out, and after basically being outed online, I was ready to live my truth. At the time, Luke hadn’t yet found himself as Luke, so we presented as a same-sex couple. We met here on Instagram, and our relationship moved rather quickly due to difficult (and happy) circumstances, quickly going from long distance to living together within the first three months of dating. We lived in Mississippi at the time. In 2017, we packed everything we owned into one car and moved to Portland, Oregon, where I taught first grade for two and a half years, while Luke worked as a personal trainer and Social Media Influencer. We got engaged in 2018 and married in 2019. By the end of 2019, social media became an opportunity for us to work full-time from home together, so I took a leap of faith and dove into this world of content creation. It’s opened doors and opportunities I didn’t know existed, while allowing us to meet incredible people and see beautiful places. (Thank you so much for being here!) In 2021, Luke came out as Trans and started testosterone. Every day that passes, he becomes more and more himself, and while I’m grateful for all of our adventures, this journey, his journey, has by far been my favorite. What does the future hold? Our dreams are all over the place, big and small. I want to be a published author, and I’m currently writing my second book while querying my first. I want to learn to draw, and sew, and act, and bake homemade pies. Luke is passionate about fashion and modeling, and his dreams are constantly expanding as he’s becoming his truest self. And we want to be parents one day, that’s the big one. We’ve been sharing our story since the beginning, and we’re so thankful for all who’ve been along for the ride and all who recently hopped on. There’s still a lot to see.
