“I forgot where I was going so I came back.” Getting to see this in person since it’s been reinstalled (Edit: this is at Gate 10!) Many, many feelings (also to heck with racists!). I know I sound like a broken record but just want to express my thanks, my gratitude to my communities in getting this back up. I don’t want this experience to happen to other artists so tonight will be a first of some talks: a panel discussion, curated by UAC in partnership with the Memphis Brooks Museum of Art, on the complexities of showing work within public and private spaces. I will be joined by these amazing folks: • Richard Lou, artist and professor, University of Memphis • Sam Rauch, Director of Commissions and Special Projects, Tanya Bonakdar Gallery • Max Felsheim, Partner, Eastlake Legal Moderated by Patricia Daigle @patricle, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Memphis Brooks Museum of Art. Starts 6pm Central Time at the Brooks Museum with an option to view remotely via live stream over @urbanartmemphis. Later in July, I’ll be hosting two Professional Development/Practice workshops during my residency @crosstownartsresidency that will also be free and open to the public with the recording available afterwards.
