IT'S GAY CHRISTMASSSSS 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 Mardi Gras looked a little different this year, without the parade and all (thanks Covid). I didn't know what to do with my night and the last thing I wanted to do was force myself to go out, drink a bunch and regret it because truly, I'm not much of a partier. 🥲 So instead, I told Sam (my super sexy husband): I want to work because I want to be around people but THEN I want to spend my night with you because I want to celebrate OUR love. I want to celebrate how I am uniquely in this community, even though as a bi woman, it can feel invalidating sometimes because my partner is a straight male (love ya babes)! I didn't want to let the idea of what people "normally do" on this night encourage me to do anything far from what actually felt true to me. SO Sam, being the kindest human in the world, picks me up with balloons exploding out of the car, super cliché pride songs blasting, and a single slice of banana bread with a #1 lit candle to celebrate my first Mardi Gras out 😭😭😭😭😭 I could not be more thankful to a) have a partner who, although they aren't personally queer, are so stunningly supportive of my journey with my sexuality and b) to be part of a community this beautiful. Here's to coming out and living large 💗🌈
