@briannacreenaune ‘I was 16 when I was burnt, and had no idea of the road ahead of me. It was a long journey, learning to do things as simple as eating again. I had to learn how to walk again, regain the control of all of my muscles and learn to deal with all of the changes to my body. Amputated toes, scars everywhere. In the 3 months I was in hospital, there were constant dressing changes, surgery after surgery, physio every day, and so many visits full of love. 

Burns are something no one ever expects, and uncommon enough that when it does happen no one knows what that journey will be like. It’s hard and it’s painful, and I remember feeling like the recovery would never end. But a whole year later and I no longer needed physio every day and a whole 5 years later, I’m sat here writing this story out, wholly living my life despite all I have endured. If there is anything I could say to myself on those hard days, or someone going through the same journey, it is that there is light at the end of the tunnel and life will get easier again and today, I am proof of that’ #KPFoundation @briannacreenaune is not a patient of KPF, we just wanted to highlight her amazing spirit and outlook 💛
