Last week, I had the honour of opening for @ludacris! Well, sort of... 😆 In all seriousness it was a privilege to be named Champion of the Year by @creativespirit.us at their Birthday Bash. That same week the C Talent team headed to @advertisingweek. We had the opportunity to learn from and network with many of the industry’s leading professionals, And, while we certainly had a worthwhile experience, one thing that stuck out to us is how inaccessible the event was. This is not to put the blame on anyone, it’s just the truth. We could list off what exactly was missing but instead, we want to stress the importance of having Disability & Access consultants involved in every step of the planning process. You may not have the necessary knowledge you need to ensure everyone who attends has equitable access, and that’s okay! In fact, this is precisely the reason to hire consultants as they are the experts in accessibility and will make sure the proper access requirements are implemented. @c_talent_ knows the value of ensuring everyone gets a seat at the table and their voices are heard. Likewise, it is equally important to ensure Disabled people have access to equitably participate in events of this caliber, as we too are an integral part to any industry.
