Video by @mountains.and.the.wild • Audio on! • In the spirit of Halloween and spooky stuff, I figured I’d post this video of a Loon calling at night over upper Kintla Lake in Glacier NP. It was a long day, we were hiking out in the dark, I believe we were around mile 33 of 42 that day. We were very tired, and the park was eerily quiet except for the occasional rustle in the bushes and these spooky loon calls. Constantly watching for the eye shine from grizzlies or wolves with our headlamps, we were vividly aware of the abundance of predators in the North Fork area as we night hiked. I’m incredibly glad I was able to get this sound to come out in the audio of this video.
