Lake Lure is located in the Hickory Nut Gorge, about 27 miles from Asheville, and is surrounded by lush mountain tops and high granite cliffs. Above the lake you see the well-known Chimney Rock. The views of the lake and gorge from the summit of Chimney Rock are breathtaking.
