Purple reign on @wsj :) Welcome my rendition of pastillas de ube or ube soft milk candies!! ~*fanfare*~ Here’s a feature on ube, with @thessa.diadem @alldaybabyla @marleystreats, the purple yam indigenous to the Philippines that when cooked to soft, becomes fragrant with nuttiness and vanilla floral notes. Ube elicits a sense of wonder with its gentle flavors and royal purple hue which I liken best to Grimace from McD’s!
