I received this new #C5superboostmoisturizer from @paulaschoice moisturizer in PR on June 20th and wanted to share some of my thoughts.
Finish: slightly dewy
Texture: It’s much lighter/thinner than I had anticipated. I really liked the thin texture.
Scent: None. (I liked this bc the Sunday Riley CEO moisturizer I have that I would put in a similar category as this has a strong scent I don’t care for).
I had my mom, dad and hubs try it out to get their thoughts on it. My mom said she liked, but it “didn’t feel like anything special immediately after applying it ” but she would use it a basic moisturizer. We all felt it was slightly tacky after application. That didn’t bug me bc I applied makeup on top, but my dad and Quin both said they preferred how their current moisturizers absorb fully so they can’t feel it on their skin. Aside from that, my dad said he liked this one and that “it was nice” (riveting review, I know). Quin didn’t like it because the tackiness was a deal breaker for him.
Just as a note, this didn’t (and wouldn’t) replace the LAA serum that I use every morning. Instead, I treated this as a moisturizer that had the added bonus of including a vitamin c derivative that holds potential to helping with pigmentation. I also liked that it included hexapeptide-5.
The downside for me is that it makes me a bit shiny, especially if I used this on top of a routine that has other hydrating serums. So for my oily/combo skin it was a little more tricky to incorporate. For that reason I’ll likely “rehome” this to someone that might get more use out of it.
