Finally tried the Szechuan at @zandyrestaurant in Chinatown! They’re known for their hot and spicy dishes, so we had to try it. We started off with some cold appetizers: Sliced Pork with spicy garlic sauce, Tiger Skin Jalapeño with preserved egg, sweet tomatoes (these balance well with all the spicy flavors) and the couple’s Delight with beef shank, tripe, tendon, and chili oil. For a warm appetizer we got the spicy dumplings that were so addicting. Then we dove into the mains: Fish filet with flaming chili oil, Creamy prawns with honey walnut (this one was pretty cool), peking roast duck (my favorite that night), and the tan tan noodles. Finally we ended with a sweet sticky rice ball soup for dessert.
