Before bed last night we took a moment to realize how mind-blown our ancestors must be right now! All of my grandparents past away before I was born with majority of them being killed in the civil war that took place in our home country Sierra Leone. Linah’s affirmation for today has brought about another level of realization & a deeper feeling of gratitude for my life & all-things encapsulated in it. My ancestors as close as my mother & father’s parents who never had the opportunity to live outside of their Sierra Leonean villages would have never in a million years imagined that some of their children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren would be living lives far beyond their reality with resources, barriers, & freedom that they fought for now flowing, relatively, in abundance.
