It is part of the cartilaginous fishes, like rays and sharks. This mysterious giant fish can only be observed at the surface when it comes to feed. It lives mostly a 100m depth. The whale shark swims at a slow pace (about 5 km/h) but migrates thousands of kilometers across the temperate and tropical areas of the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans. “Un des moments qui m’a le plus impressionné c’est lorsque nous avons commencé à travailler la nuit. Il fait partie des poissons cartilagineux, comme les raies et les requins. Ce mystérieux poisson géant ne peut être observé à la surface que lorsqu'il vient se nourrir. Sinon il vit souvent à plus de 100m de profondeur.
