I recently came across some excellent reporting from the BBC about women who are keeping diaries of their experiences on the front lines. You can hear them on the bbc website (link to the article in my story). “I was just walking past a line of riot police. Some of them stared at me. I asked if there was anything wrong. Then suddenly, one of them pointed the gun at me and fired... They grabbed my hair and pushed me to the ground.” “At least, I feel like I’m actually doing something, and I feel alive.” “I can see the dawn of freedom, so I will keep fighting in one way or another.” As of December, at least 500 people and 63 children have been killed. Women started the protest but people of all ethnicities joining in are united, chanting “Women, Life, Freedom”. These protests are nonviolent, embodying spiritual qualities of energy and courage, determination and resolve, truthfulness and the ultimate generosity of offering their life for the cause of freedom. 💚🤍❤️ #mahsaamini #womenlifefreedom #iranprotests #womensrights #freedom
