I despise the word ‘dump’ in relation to Instagram posts, because it’s needlessly apologetic, like we’re taking up some kind of sacred space with the minutiae of our lives, rather than a silly social media app used largely to sell us things we neither need or want. Like the photos we take of the people and places we love aren’t enough for some imagined audience of social media auteurs. Like we should be embarrassed that we aren’t taking cooler or better photos when it truly could not matter less, as we’re all going to be dead soon and in any case your friends like looking at your photos - they love you. Anyway - birthday dump!
