In December, I gave Thomas (@thomkienbaum) a promise ring from @tiffanyandco with a knot to serve as a reminder of the love I have for him and my commitment to us. I called it a junior engagement ring. Six months later, Thomas surprised me with a knot bracelet from @histoiredor to match and officially asked me to marry him the day I landed in France. We knew going in how special and singular our relationship was since it was anchored in best friendship and talking about any and everything for nearly two years now. This was different from typical proposals (we’re designing a custom engagement ring, so that will come later), but being long distance in different countries means our milestones look a little different. And that’s OK: there’s no one way to have a love story. Our journey is uniquely ours, and we’re so excited to be taking a step to build a life together—and to celebrate the miracle of finding and nurturing the kind of true love we both dreamt of finding.
