For two year’s time I was lucky enough to portray and promote KJ Brandman, a subtext-laden, subtle, and sensitive striker. That time was also spent developing real friendships around the masterful fiction created by Brian, Cliff and Matt. Now, however, those high up the rungs of power have made a decision bringing my time as KJ to a close. As Grandfather ominously stated, “your time is your time.” Unlike my character, I cannot travel to the past to change our trajectory nor can I travel to the future to see if, given time, this title would have found a different fate. What I can do is act one last time as KJ, and face what the future holds with acceptance and pride. I am abundantly proud of the work completed by all 300 of our cast, creatives, and our crew. I thank Amazon, Legendary, and Plan B for trusting me with KJ and her unbelievably affirming arc. I am honored that my continuing journey will forever be entwined with hers. We both foresee future days in NYC and making movies, and I’ll be counting on the continued support of the phenomenal fans who have endeared themselves to me as they’ve embraced KJ so dearly. And so, to them, I’ll end this particular moment in time with KJ’s words. Words I thrilled at being given to deliver this season as you all have delivered so much to me and to my cast mates: “We’re paper girls, so we stick together...we’re not going to change that now.” #papergirls
