To those of you who are feeling sad, mad, or overwhelmed, I am with you. I believe it’s fundamental to build a world that celebrates women, their agency, and their equality. I started a business to elevate and celebrate women and that starts with protecting fundamental human rights. Reproductive rights are human rights. Your choice matters. Your voice matters. Although the decision to overturn Roe v. Wade is not in Canada, we have a long way to go to ensure women and people with uteruses have access to reproductive education, reproductive healthcare especially in northern communities, free contraception and a reduction in the stigma around all of these topics. As a brand, a leader, and a woman, it's important to use my platform to acknowledge the major socioeconomic and health impacts on women from this decision, and also in our own backyards. Posting in support of equality is a start, but more dialogue and action should occur outside of social media. We must all ask ourselves, what can we do today and tomorrow to build a greater future for women in our local communities. I’m supporting Planned Parenthood in my hometown as they’re currently operating without a space, impacting their operations and women’s health. I encourage you to take a look at the need in your community and support if you can.
