The vegan food in London is chef’s kiss! When we visited for our honeymoon in early 2020, we accidentally stumbled across @dishoom and somehow managed to get a table. After eating what was honestly the best meal of our lives, we walked outside to see a line wrapping around the building. Determined to eat there again, we made a reservation for the next night! On this trip, we planned ahead. We went to Dishoom three times while we were in London, but we also found some new favorites to add to the list! Check these out if you’re visiting London: 1. @dishoom - They aren’t fully vegan, but they have a vegan menu. Luke and I shared Chaap Pineapple Tikka, which is a spiced soy kabob marinated and grilled with pineapple. We also shared Chole Chawal, a hearty bowl of spiced chickpea curry served with basmati rice. If you want to try some sides, the corn and okra fries (not gluten-free) are amazing. For dessert, try the Kala Khatta Gola Ice! 2. The Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon - They have an entire vegan afternoon tea menu, and everything was delicious! They even have a zero proof rosé made with tea! (Not so fun fact about our trip: The last time we visited London, gluten didn’t bother me at all. This time, however, I broke out in hives and didn’t feel great. We definitely want to go to @fortnums again, however, so I’ll ask for vegan & gluten-free next time. 🙃) 3. Jimmy’s Grill - Jimmy’s had a ton of options and it was quick & delicious! I got the okra and rice, while Luke got a vegan burger and fries. 4. @mildredsrestaurants We ended up making reservations two nights in a row at Mildred’s! The first night, we shared the Roman Artichoke Panelle, which is a Sicilian herb chickpea fritter in a roast pepper pine nut cream and artichoke. So good! Then Luke got the bokkeumbap—kimchi fried rice with peppered tofu—and I got shiitake tempeh bun cha—lemongrass tempeh “meatballs” on a rice noodle salad. The next night, we got our own artichoke appetizer and had dessert for dinner! I got the crème brûlèe and Luke got the white chocolate tiramisu, but we shared both. Obviously 😛 5. @brownandrosie Where we tried beans and toast for the first time! (Avocado toast seen) #plantbased
