Die angenehme Ruhe, die frische Luft oder das leuchtende Grün der Blätter – was liebst du am Wald am meisten? 💭 Neben seiner beruhigenden Wirkung hat der Wald aber noch viele andere Vorteile, zum Beispiel für unser Klima und unsere Luft- und Wasserqualität: 💧 Wälder sind wichtig für unser Trinkwasser: Etwa 70 % des bundesweit gewonnenen Trinkwassers kommt aus den Wäldern. ☁️ Wälder sorgen für saubere, sauerstoffreiche Luft: Der deutsche Wald mit seinen 11,4 Millionen Hektar Fläche produziert pro Jahr das 1 bis 1,5-fache an Sauerstoff, den die Einwohner:innen Deutschlands zum Atmen brauchen. 🌳 Wälder binden Kohlenstoff: Wälder senken den Kohlendioxid-Gehalt in der Luft, der in zu hohen Konzentrationen schädlich ist. Jeder Hektar Wald bindet pro Jahr durchschnittlich 8 Tonnen CO2. Gemeinsam mit ClimatePartner und der Schutzgemeinschaft Deutscher Wald haben wir deshalb ein Aufforstungsprojekt gestartet.
