We consider the fridges an extension of our dinner table. Wednesday was a full circle moment of connection, collaboration across ecosystems and adding a whole new layer to our work. One Love volunteers came together to prepare 150+ fresh, nutritious, colorful meals and 50+ veggie sides for the community fridges. Each and every meal was prepped, cooked and packed with love. The menu, by @chefnaomisantos_ ,was Pan Fried Tilapia/Trout, Cilantro Rice, Roasted Sweet potatoes, Pickled Red Onions & Roasted Brussel Sprouts Thank you to everyone. It takes a village 💚 The tilapia was freshly harvested from @okofarms - a community partner and incredible aquaponic farm that also donates vegetables to fridges throughout the year. @pistachiostudionyc - donated food and shared their beautiful commercial kitchen. @duncansqualityfishmarket - a small local black-owned business, broke down and prepped the fish. @nytcooking studio - another zero-waste donation partner, shared their cooking tools. @rethinkfood - a community partner, shared brussel sprouts. @katzmanproduce - that continuously supports our work through high quality produce donations, including these sweet potatoes. Last but not least our most amazing volunteers that always show up and out! All else - through financial contributions from YOU, our wonderful community.
