As such, “The 12 Encounters” re-imagines a series of hybrid socio-political, cosmological, cultural and historical convergences between Greece and the African continent and it’s Diaspora. From antiquity to the contemporary and from the sacred to the irreverent, I designed 12 digital monuments that are presented via augmented reality and located throughout a variety of sites in Central Athens. Accompanying these digital monuments are a 360° VR experience and fly-through animation of a fictional AfroGreek Monument Park. Images 1-10 (of 12 designs): 1.
