@prettylittlething are the latest exploitative fashion brand to launch a resale platform. this is yet a another greenwashing tool to gloss over the way they exploit garment makers and our planet to overproduce clothing, and adds to the false narrative that clothing is disposable. without a commitment to producing fewer garments, we have an ever increasing amount of fossil fuel derived clothing, made by people who aren't earning a fair living wage, leaving more citizens feeling deflated after the dopamine hit of a new purchase has worn off, with the garments shedding microfibres into our oceans & waterways, headed to landfill and polluting communities in the Global South (who had no part in this), all so the greedy CEOs and top executives can make a quick buck. to learn more about clothing waste, please see the pinned video on my page with @chloe_asaam x @theorispresent 💛 don't buy it. #greenwashing
