5 years difference. 2 separate brands with the same message... This isn’t to throw shade this is just very eye opening for me. In the first pic I’m broken, depressed, self harming and starving myself. Casted for a shoot that was supposed to represent inclusivity and all body types. When actually they cast one and only one gorgeously stunning woman who was in the curve category. It’s kind of like when you view models on a site and they throw in a curve model on the last slide to make sure all bases are covered. I remember feeling so incredible large and embarrassed to get changed in front of the women on that shoot. This was nothing to do with them it was just where I was in my head. But I also remember my shock at the I incredibly edited images that came after. I actually was edited thinner ..... 👀 Now let’s fast forward 5 years to being booked by @swimsociety. The message... the ethos .... The way this team has made me and others feel is second to none. This goes for all the brands I’ve worked with over the past few months. I absolutely love the way the industry is changing. (We still have a long way to go) But to see humans representing different body types is just incredible. ✨I really want brands to show that not all curve is an hourglass shape. That sometimes you don’t have a tiny waist and thick thighs and a voluptuous booty.✨ Sometimes we have back rolls, and booty ache, and a lower pouch. Sometimes we just go straight up and down. Sometimes our boobs hang low. All these beautiful humans deserve to see themselves represented somewhere. My journey isn’t over. My mind is in such a better place but there is still a lot of work to do. Sometimes I want to give up. Sometimes times I question myself and sometimes I can’t look in the mirror. But I’m pushing through that, I’m learning from my scars and my pain. Please remember you are loved and absolutely beautiful inside and out.
