The ultimate Guangzhou food guide curated by those who know best This is our full list of must-eat restaurants and dishes in Guangzhou, curated by my Chinese boyfriend’s parents, who’ve been visiting the city multiple times a year for over 10 years for work. If you’re planning a trip to southern China, save this. We managed to eat everything in just 3 days! 🍽️ Guangzhou must-eats: Bing Sheng (Michelin) Hands down one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Cantonese classics done perfectly: their crispy char siu is a textural dream, and the Chinese-style sashimi is herbaceous, clean, and incredible for seafood lovers. Da Ge Fan (Michelin) A restaurant entirely dedicated to pigeon. You can watch dozens of claypots cooking pigeon rice through a glass window. They raise their own pigeons, and each roast bird is impossibly juicy and flavorful. Tao Tao Ju (Michelin) A viral dim sum institution with multiple locations. Famous for their seafood crispy rice roll a chee cheong fun stuffed with crunchy youtiao and seafood. Xie San Bao For the umami lovers. Known for hairy crab roe over noodles and rice. Rich, indulgent, and perfect for sharing (or solo if you’re brave). Nong Men Zhai Hunan-style food in a setting that feels straight out of the countryside. You pick your own produce and fish, wander through old architecture, and dine next to a massive koi pond. Li De Noodle The definition of a classic Cantonese breakfast. Famous for wonton noodles, plus congee, pork innards, and roast meats. Hua He Shang A go-to late-night spot with tons of beer on tap and extremely affordable prices which is perfect for winding down after a long day of eating. If you love Cantonese food, dim sum, and discovering how locals actually eat, Guangzhou is an absolute must. #guangzhou #china #travel #guangzhoufood #chinafood #chineseboy #chinaguide #cantonese #cantonesefood #pork #goose #noodles #dimsum #chinesefood #bestfood
