"If you think about something every day you should probably do it." - That became the answer when people asked me why in the hell, I wanted to do the Leadville Trail l100 MTB on a single speed. My fellow Leadville racers had the kindest words of encouragement and acknowledgment that I had chosen to make it harder on myself. But each time I was asked how I was doing; my only response was "SOOO Happy!" I really believe that Aug 13th, 2022, will remain one of my happiest days. Enjoying even the painful moments. All while realizing, I am healthy enough to get it done, fortunate enough to have the resources to do it, and lucky enough to get the opportunity to push myself at every level. I really did think about this race every day for years. I trained for this race every day for years. It isn't just my commitment but also the commitment of my friends and family.
