happy #SecondHandSeptember! ♻️ i use today to mark the start of my new year and think it's the perfect time to set some intentions - for example, our relationship with our clothes! this month, why not allocate some time to go through your wardrobe and organise your clothes so you can actually see what you have? getting more wear out of your garments is a wonderful way to honour the craft of the people who made them and will probably mean that you buy less ✅ if you find clothes in your closet that no longer fit or that you can’t give a loving home to, could you gift them to a friend? host a swap shop? up-cycle them? take them to a tailor? try re-selling them? @OxfamGB launched this campaign as a way to encourage people to shop second hand, so if you're new to buying pre-loved, now's a good time to give it a go. if you don't have any charity or thrift shops near you, try using resale apps (not the ones helmed by fast fashion brands) like vestiaire, ebay, & depop and make use of filters to find pieces in your size, at a price point that fits your budget. finding a gem can be a time consuming process, but for me, the pay off beats that quick dopamine hit of rush-buying a fast fashion piece every single time. i'd LOVE to see you using this audio to show of your old outfits of the day (#oootd) and as a way to find other likeminded folks in this community 💚 keep an eye out on instagram stories where i'll be sharing your creations👀✨ looking for a September thrift buddy or near you or perhaps someone to co-host a swap shop? feel free introduce yourself in the comments ⬇️ #slowfashion #sustainablefashion #secondhandfashion
