"#ForeverisNowII MEET THE ARTISTS ft ZEINAB ALHASHEMI (@zalhashemi ): Emirati multimedia artist Zeinab Alhashemi has always been fascinated with the rapid transformation of the UAE in recent decades, a fascination that shines through in her work. Having graduated from Zayed University with a BA in Arts and Science, Alhashemi's installations examine the contrast between abstract geometric shapes often associated with urbanism and the UAE's natural landscapes, disrupting nature's familiar colours and textures with striking industrial materials such as mesh metals. In her short career Alhashemi’s work was featured in exhibitions at prominent galleries around the world as well as Sharjah Biennial 11. Alhashemi was commissioned by the Institute de France and DCT Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi to showcase at the inauguration of the Louvre Abu Dhabi and was part of the Co-Lab Show in 2018. She was an Artist in Residence at SETI-Institute in San Fransisco, an Art and Science residency that encourages an engagement and research between artists and scientists. Alhashemi was also commissioned for the EXPO2021 Dubai at the Sustainable pavilion along pioneer UAE Artists like Mohammed Kazim and Mohamed Ahmed Ibrahim. Supported by: @uaemcy
