Shuāng Jiàng (霜降)— Frost Descends 💦 We've entered the last seasonal point for Autumn before we welcome in first day of winter in about 15 days. For those in the northern hemisphere, temperature will continue dipping and the sun is setting a little earlier each day. As we move into more Yin and colder months of the year, it is recommended during Shuang Jiang to stay warm and protect against the cold. TO EAT: 🍲 We recommend eating more warm, nourishing foods, like soups and stews. 🍜 For cooking methods, opt to boil, slow cook, simmer, sous-vide, braise, and pot roasting 🥕 chestnut, pear, apple, persimmon, carrot, pumpkin, Shan Yao (Chinese yam), bok choy, Napa cabbage, lamb and rabbit 🫖 Make yourself a ginger, persimmon, and cinnamon tea. Not only is it tasty, it also strengthens the Spleen and Kidney TO DO: 🍂 Take a cue from nature. The leaves are shedding, it’s time to get reflective and let go of things that no longer serve you. 🛀 Take warm baths or foot soaks. It helps to warm the Kidney and is helpful for many issues like insomnia, forgetfulness, lower back pain, and painful periods. Soak for 15-20 minutes until you have slight perspiration and make sure you drink plenty of warm fluids after. TO USE: We have a new product coming soon that's perfect for the colder months ahead. Can you guess what it is? Hint: 🌿🧖♨️ Since we are working with a small grower, supplies will be very limited.
