What do you think, Option 1 (on the left) or Option 2 (on the right)? Or option 3: cancel the whole project (kiiiiidding👀) I like that option 1 (beechwood) has less variation in the grain and is less “busy” but yikes that streaky stain might drive me crazy if I’m looking at that everyday while I’m working. Option 2 (birch), the stain came out great! I just wasn’t anticipating that the wood would have so much variation and it’s feeling more rustic than I had hoped for!
