I arrived in Chicago for @nlgjaofficial convention at 1:30 am Friday and could barely sleep because I immediately recognized my hotel as the one where CAROL AND THERESE stay in Chicago the night before Waterloo. The film was not shot here, but it is a setting in the novel and the film. Of course, Todd Haynes and crew fetishistically recreated it for CAROL down to the wallpaper and the twin beds in my room. Also, no one at this queer journalist convention appears to be as interested in this fact as I am.
