Thursday the 8th of December ‘arriba abajo dentro dentro’ by Carlos Álvarez Clemente opens at the TABLEAU showroom. ‘arriba abajo dentro dentro’ is a collection of objects and photographs that dialogue with each other, telling a story of distant geographies, meditative memories and impossible situations. After a few years away from home, Carlos got interested in things that are in a places where they don ́t really belong, and how objects, images and places build up our memories and identities. The exhibition is conceived as a game of subtle connections and resonances between materials, colors and narratives. Connections that reveal themselves slowly, during a calm contemplation. The title (Spanish for “up-down-slow-slow”) refers to a guided or instructed choreography. It relates to how the elements in the show relate to each other, and also to the way in which they create a way to stay in space on different scales. From colors that repeat in the exhibition to objects that have been transported from distant locations to TABLEAU ́s gallery.
