Belvoir is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Yorta Yorta, Woiwurrung, Boon Wurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung Elder, Uncle Jack Charles. Co-founding Australia’s first Indigenous theatre group, Nindethana, Uncle Jack is lovingly remembered as the ‘Grandfather of Indigenous Theatre’. He shared his warmth and wisdom with Belvoir audiences in many moving performances, including his one-man show JACK CHARLES V THE CROWN in 2011 and co-production with @ilbijerri_theatre, CORANDERRK in 2013/14.
