#ForeverisNowII MEET THE ARTISTS ft THERESE ANTOINE LOUIS (@thereseantoine ): Based in Alexandria, Egypt, Therese Antoine Louis is a sculptor whose focus lies in streamlining body shapes into simple abstract, geometrical forms, covering themes such as the identity of self and the necessity of confrontation. Having obtained her BFA in Monument Sculpture from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Alexandria in 2014, Louis became part of the 20th edition of the Aswan International Sculpture Symposium (AISS). Two years later, she was selected as one of the main artists of the Egyptian Delegation at the 22nd edition of AISS. In 2018, Louis held a solo exhibition at the Institut Francais d’Alexandrie, and then received an artist residency scholarship at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris from the Institut Francais d’Egypte a year later. In 2020, the Institut Francais d’Alexandrie sought out Louis once again to hold an exhibition inspired by life under lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
