create space for the erased and evolving parts of humanity and individuality. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Each person’s gender is unique and different. Predictions cannot be made about what someone’s gender identity, gender expression, or sexuality will be, or how it will change over time. We convince ourselves we can by using overly simplified language, depictions, and stereotypes about bodies, attraction, biology, appearance, and mannerisms. Over time people began filling the gaps in knowledge about gender, sex, and sexuality with exclusionary models for understanding that are based in fear. Fear that we know less about attraction and identity we than we claim to. Fear that if one disengages with the socially-endorsed and socially prescribed manifestations of gender and sex, they will no longer have a roadmap for how to relate to others and navigate life. Fear about what would happen if each person realizes they are truly an individual yet loses access to core parts of this individualism as they are molded to conform to society’s gender roles, expectations and rules. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• What if certain gaps in knowledge do not need to be filled. What if these gaps are not gaps at all, but placeholders for the erased and evolving parts of what it means to be human.
