Inclusivity, diversity and representation are some of the few things that Africa in fashion represents, I had never seen a brown or black mannequin in my life, talk less of a mannequin with African hairstyles, braids Bantu knots and our African features highlighted so well, full lips, high cheekbones, wide nose and to see myself brought to brought to life by @thecostumemounter and her team In this way I’m hoping that it can inspire one or two young black boys and girls to feel represented, included in the conversation, in a room, in the global fashion scene or any other major sects in life. So proud to see African beauty, fabrics, prints and designs emblazoned in the @vamuseum and the incredible results of merging photography and creative minds complementing each other to bring about exquisite artwork. Such an honour meeting @theroyalfamily His majesty the king Charles and her majesty the Queen consort Camilla who graced us with their presence and so proud to have been in a room with the amazing men and women who contributed to this wonderful exhibition.
