I am beyond thankful for the most amazing trip spent serving God in Costa Rica with my bestfriends. During the time I spent down in Costa Rica, I got to see first-hand how God’s love is reflected in selflessness and the true joy that comes from being grateful with everything in your life. We served the people down there in many different ways and seeing how happy they were with what little they had was an amazing opportunity. I got to see how selfless the people in Pavas were and how eager they were to serve. Even as we would serve those less fortunate, they would still be trying to find ways to serve us. The ladies that would cook for hours every day would continuously ask, in spanish, “anything else we could get for you?” One night we all had the opportunity to go give out food and share Jesus with a group of people along the streets. During the time we were out serving them, a man approached asking how he could serve me instead, by taking up our trash and asking us if we need anything else. Even as we were there to help him, he continued to put others needs before his own. I began speaking to him and getting to know him and his life. He shared his previous hardships that he had went through to find Jesus. Even when he doesn’t have much, he gives all he has for God’s glory and to serve Him. It was eye-opening to see that through all his hardships, he was still coming to serve with a selfless heart and finding gratitude in even the little things. “We are so blessed for being able to have this one slice of pizza, while other people on the other side of the world would pleading for what we have” he told us. Put my life into perspective as I realized everything I took for granted. He held onto God’s love and God’s plan for him as he lived his life serving him. He had a grateful heart that he used to shine Jesus’ love to everyone he talked to. His last words to us was “pass it on. pass it on” as he motivated us to continue working on making the world a better place. So that is what I will do, pass it on. Romans 15:1-2 💗💗💗
