As an actor, I am often tasked with falling in love over, and over, and over again. And each time, I have to fall out of love, time after another. And as the film wraps and I am no longer tasked in doing so, I am then left heart broken. And this heartbreak is not only for the amazing actress (although she is apart of every inch of it), but the heartbreak spans through the whole experience of being an actor.
From auditions, to call backs, to booking, shooting, and wrapping... the whole array of emotions felt throughout this process is surreal. And frankly, a journey without an ending would be incomplete, and therefore, the ending is both the beauty and pain that I long for.
There are many misconceptions for why I pursue the entertainment world, and one of the worst farewells I have ever received was, “good luck getting famous.” Because yes, of course social currency is a byproduct of this industry, but being “famous” is not on my to-do list.
I long to be heart broken. To feel the whole pallet of emotions, all jumbled together into an indescribable feeling. To feel human. And as I write this and reminisce on the memories and experiences of this project, I can’t help but to feel ever more motivated to chase my next heartbreak.
