Let’s start with this treasure of liberty i had the chance to discover during a long inventory one year ago at Fourseasons Megève by Rothschild Family.
Hermitage La Tour Blanche 1945 from Jaboulet-Vercherre, it was a very hot year that produced some remarkable wines, particularly from Hermitage and Côte-Rôtie (Northern Rhône). The history of Maison Jaboulet begins in 1834 in the heart of the Rhône Valley in Tain-l'Hermitage by Antoine Jaboulet. A fine connoisseur of wines from the South of France and a hard worker, Antoine succeeded in forging a solid reputation for his wines throughout Europe in a few years.
In 1881, one of his sons, Henry, particularly impressed and passionate about the vineyards and the quality of Burgundy wines, left the Rhône Valley to found his own Maison de Bourgogne in Beaune. In order to differentiate himself from his brother, he adds his wife's name to his and names his new Maison Jaboulet-Vercherre.
