As part of our “Artist Recluse” collection, we worked with one of our favorite artists and friend @elliotthundley on a reimagined Abc. Logo and artwork sweatshirt. The capsule works into Elliott’s process of found objects and cutouts. The Abc. Logo shirt is collaged of various photographs, images, and found objects formed into our Abc. logo, outlined with a transparent glitter shape. For the sweatshirt, we used one of our favorite works as an all over print, and encapsulated a random object from Elliotts studio onto each sweatshirt. Both garments feature a chain-stitched information box and Abc. Holographic patch. Some background on Elliott: Elliott Hundley was born in 1975 in Greensboro, North Carolina. Hundley draws inspiration for his paintings from diverse sources, but especially from his Southern heritage, steeped in family history. Many of his works also contain references to Greek tragedy and classical mythology, and to Japanese woodblock prints. He also stages improvisational photo shoots to generate imagery for his multi-panel tableaus, casting friends and family in roles from antiquity and various other sources. With these and other images anchored by thousands of pins to bulletin-board-like surfaces, his shallow reliefs form a palimpsest that teems with humble materials such as cut-up magazines, string, plastic, gold leaf, and other ephemera. He frequently recycles leftover scraps from one work to the next and uses images of completed paintings as substructures for new projects, creating continuity between old and new. - Elliott requested a portion of the proceeds be donated to House of Tulip. They are a community-based initiative whose mission is to provide housing solutions, pathways to healthcare, education, job training and placement and legal advocacy for TGNC Louisianians. Founded by Black transgender women and other TGNC community leaders in New Orleans, House of Tulip is the first organization of its kind in the state. House of Tulip is a 501(c)3 organization.
