Dear Dad Dad, You were the grandfather every kid dreams of having. You were kind, you were funny, you were always hard working, and most of all, you never judged, you only loved. You called me Peanuts, for reasons none of us know, but I embraced it, and longed for every visit, every chocolate doughnut, every joke you had already told me a million times prior. You told everyone about me, my blog, my adventures. You always seemed proud, even if I had a few missteps along the way. You were stubborn as shit, loved your coffee black and with good company, and you were so beloved by everyone who met you. I never dreamed our chicken tender & tater tot lunch date a couple weeks ago would be one of our last. I wish I could have had more time with you, but I know that’s a selfish desire. When I said goodbye, I’ll never forget your eyebrow raising at the sound of my voice. I know you heard me, and I hope you go tell Lola all about us. We had a special bond, that will live on in my heart forever. I’ll never forget you. I love you Dad Dad, Peanuts I’d also like to recognize all that my Mom has done in the last several years, months, weeks and days. She didn’t leave his side. She honored every wish. He was a good father, and she is an amazing daughter. I know he will never be able to say thank you, but I do know he so grateful for your unwavering love.
